[SPOILER ALERT!] Details About Coulson’s AGENTS OF SHIELD Resurrection Emerge

COULSON

Slashfilm has uncovered how Clark Gregg will be reprising his role as Agent Phil Coulson, who died in THE AVENGERS, in upcoming ABC TV series AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. Unfortunately for fans, Coulson’s resurrection doesn’t involve him becoming The Vision (a popular theory) or having a L.M.D (Life Model Decoy) but rather …well, click the pic to find out how…

Ready For A ROBOCOP Reboot Round-Up?

To say I’m a little confused by these new-ish (they’re new to me but appear to have been online for a couple weeks now) set pics from director Jose Padilha’s upcoming MASS EFFECT film adaptation (courtesy of Coming Soon) would be a massive understatement. I don’t get understand what the police cars, taxi cabs, and odd bits of Detroit-centric graffiti are doing here. I don’t remember any of that being in the game. I see the N7 armor (looks decent, even if it is lacking color) but where’s the Normandy? Where’s the Citadel? Where are Garrus and Wrex? Where’s anything that’s not the armor that is ACTUALLY connected to the game?

Crap. They’ve Cannonized MASS EFFECT, haven’t they? Whole thing gonna be set on Earth now? Keep Shepard on the ground to keep the budget down? Dammit! Why can’t the studios properly translate video games to movies? Why do they have always fuc…

Wait. What do you mean these are from the Padilha’s ROBOCOP reboot?

If that’s the case then I guess these are pics of Joel Kinnaman, the “star” of AMC’s THE KILLING, in the new Robo-suit. Huh. Not exactly what I was expecting. Little too dark and derivative. This armor might work for a MASS EFFECT or new BATMAN movie but seems wrong for this franchise. Robocop should steel grey but shiny, a beacon of hope and light for the downtrodden citizens of Detroit. This …isn’t that.

Rumor Mill: Is There A “Director’s Cut” Of THE DARK KNIGHT RISES In The Works?

Till official confirmation arrives, take everything you are about to read with a huge grain of salt.

Nuke The Fridge has uncovered that the upcoming Blu-Ray release of THE DARK KNIGHT RISES may or may not include a “Director’s Cut” packed with more than thirty minutes of new footage. The majority of the added material will reportedly center around Bane’s origin (which costume designer Lindy Hemming recently confirmed was shot and not deleted from the final film) and Liam Neeson’s cameo as Ra’s al Ghul (a bit that, while a nice callback to BATMAN BEGINS, doesn’t really strike me as something that needs to be expanded).

You might notice there was a “may or may not” in the last paragraph. That wasn’t a mistake. The ambiguity is there because while it makes TOTAL financial sense for Warner to release a longer version of TDKR, it doesn’t make sense Christopher Nolan, a director who notoriously against tinkering with the finished product and barely acknowledges he deletes scenes from his films, actually would.

SDCC 2012: Marvel Teases THOR 2, IRON MAN 3, CAPTAIN AMERICA 2, GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY, and ANT-MAN

Marvel Studios won this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. There may not have been an official contest or anything but they won. There’s no denying that. Marvel head honcho Kevin Fiege and company rode in high off the box office success of THE AVENGERS, trotted out tons of juicy info and sneak peeks about their upcoming releases, delivered a few high-profile surprises (Robert Downey Jr.’s epic entrance to the IRON MAN 3 panel being one), and pretty much Hulk-smashed the competition into the ground. DC and the rest of the panels never stood a chance.
