Opening This Weekend: DECEMBER 3rd, 2010

Is it just me or is it strange that there is only one major release hitting theaters this weekend? Last weekend (or, to be more specific, the Thanksgiving holiday) was a virtual parade of films with the likes of TANGLED, FASTER and BURLESQUE stomping into cinemas to varying degrees of success. However, all audiences have to look forward to today is THE WARRIOR’S WAY.

Straight up, this flick looks like a steaming pile of horseshit. Sorry, but it does. And I say this as someone who really loves movies with ninjas in them. A movie with a ninja in it should be an instant win, so why does WAY look so craptastic to me?

Well, that’s an easy one to answer. The visuals look like crap (seriously, just look at the trailer below and tell me this doesn’t look like one long video game cut-scene), all the actors on-hand appear to be hard up for work (Kate Bosworth hasn’t been relevant since 2006, Danny Huston and Geoffrey Rush are good actors who routinely appear in crap movies and I have no fucking clue who “international superstar” Dong-gun Jang is) and the whole film reeks of being a second-rate LONE WOLF AND CUB clone.

I’m going to suggest that you skip this one and check out one of the movies you might have missed last weekend. Or, if you’re in the mood for some Eastern Western action, I suggest checking out SUKIYAKI WESTERN DJANGO or RED SUN with Charles Bronson.

BOX OFFICE PREDICTION: 6-7mil opening weekend, 25mil total domestic.
