Review: THE SPACE BETWEEN US / THE LEGO BATMAN MOVIE / FIST FIGHT

Gardner Elliot (Asa Butterfield), the first human born on Mars, begins an online friendship with Tulsa (Britt Robertson), a teen in Colorado. On his maiden voyage to Earth, the 16-year-old finally gets to experience all the joys and wonders of a world he could only read about. Problems arise when scientists discover that Gardner's organs can't withstand the atmosphere. United with Tulsa and on the run, the interplanetary visitor races against time to unravel the mysteries of how he came to be, and where he belongs in the universe.

In the film ENDER'S GAME, Asa Butterfield's character had a second in command named Bean. In the ENDER'S GAME novels, Bean was a baby who was born as part of an illegal experiment, was highly intelligent, was reunited with his biological family, grew to extreme proportions with an over sized heart that would eventually kill him in Earth gravity, left behind the woman he loved, and went into space to prolong his life. This mirrors much of the story of THE SPACE BETWEEN US. (IMDB)

There are big changes brewing in Gotham, but if Batman (Will Arnett) wants to save the city from the Joker's (Zach Galifianakis) hostile takeover, he may have to drop the lone vigilante thing, try to work with others and maybe, just maybe, learn to lighten up. Maybe his superhero sidekick Robin (Michael Cera) and loyal butler Alfred (Ralph Fiennes) can show him a thing or two.

Billy Dee Williams voices the nefarious Two-Face in THE LEGO BATMAN MOVIE. Williams portrayed Two-Face's "good" alter ego, Harvey Dent, in Tim Burton's BATMAN. He was very eager to also portray Two-Face in a later sequel, but did not get the chance to, due to Joel Schumacher taking over the franchise with BATMAN FOREVER, and re-casting the role with Tommy Lee Jones. On the last day before summer vacation, high school teacher Andy Campbell (Charlie Day) tries his best to keep it together amid senior pranks, a dysfunctional administration and budget cuts that threaten his job. Things go from bad to worse when he crosses Ron Strickland (Ice Cube), the school's toughest and most feared teacher. When Strickland gets fired, he challenges Campbell to a fight after school. As news of the showdown spreads like wildfire, poor Andy desperately seeks any way out of his date with certain doom.

According to Ice Cube, the actual "fist fight" sequence took 8 days to shoot. (IMDB)
