T.G.I.F. #55: HARLEY DAVIDSON AND THE MARLBORO MAN (1991)

TOTALLY GRATUITOUS AND INAPPROPRIATE FRIDAY is a spoiler-laden NSFW podcast where J Bryant and AngieBee discuss movies/shows you probably shouldn’t watch with your spouse, significant other, teenage children, parents, small children, buddies, children in general, siblings, folks you barely know, or ones with heart conditions. You’ve been warned.

In this week's episode of Totally Gratuitous and Inappropriate Friday, J Bryant and AngieBee discuss the burly biker box office bust HARLEY DAVIDSON AND THE MARLBORO MAN starring Don Johnson, Mickey Rourke, Daniel Baldwin, Tom Sizemore, Vanessa Williams, Chelsea Field, and Giancarlo Esposito.

In the lawless world of the future, drifters Harley Davidson (Mickey Rourke) and The Marlboro Man (Don Johnson) help an old friend save his bar by robbing the very bank trying to take over his property. But this is no ordinary bank and the armored car they roll is filled not with money but drugs! Now Harley and Marlboro become the objects of a ruthless manhunt by the corrupt bank chief's deadly and unstoppable henchmen.

Take a shot when…

…Marlboro tells one of his “Old Man” stories.

…Harley lands a hot babe with little to no effort.

…a standard issue 90s action movie bar brawl breaks out.

Take a double shot when…

…Marlboro spits.

…Harley keeps count of how much he’s spending on bullets.

…Jimmy Jiles calls someone “Homes”.

Take a triple shot when…

…Alexander attempts to give his one-note baddie some flavor by using the word “dilettante”.

…underappreciated action icon Robert Ginty, of THE EXTERMINATOR and WARRIORS OF THE LOST WORLD fame, scores a line.

…the black guy dies first, followed immediately by the only other black guy dying second. What the actual f*ck?!?

In numerous interviews, Mickey Rourke has said that he signed on to this film purely for financial reasons. He said it made him feel "like a sell-out" and fueled his descent into self-loathing in the mid-1990s. (IMDB)
