Adamantium Bullet

FROM THE VAULT is a spoilery, mildly rambling, sometimes NSFW look back at forgotten favorites, forgettable flops, underrated gems, and early entries in already established film franchises.

In this episode, J Bryant and AngieBee discuss AVP-R: ALIEN VS PREDATOR - REQUIEM starring Steven Pasquale, John Ortiz, Reiko Aylesworth, Kristen Hager, and Sam Trammell.

The residents of Gunnison, Colorado, are caught up in the crossfire when two deadly extraterrestrial species bring their longstanding conflict to Earth. On the one side, nearly indestructible Xenomorphs (aka ‘Aliens’); on the other, a lone Yautja (aka ‘Predator’) whose mission is to wipe out all traces of the alien infestation from Earth, no matter who gets in the way.

> Bill Paxton was approached to play the diner chef, so he could appear in the second "Predator", "Alien", and "AVP" film in each franchise. However, scheduling conflicts prevented him from making an appearance.

> Danny Glover, who starred in PREDATOR 2, was considered to reprise his role as Mike Harrigan, now retired.

> According to the DVD commentary, Colonel Stevens (Robert Joy) was originally written as Garber (Adam Baldwin) from PREDATOR 2. When Baldwin couldn't be scheduled, the character was changed to Colonel Stevens.

> The Predator was nicknamed "Wolf" by the filmmakers, after the character Winston Wolfe in PULP FICTION. His role in the film, like Wolfe's, is described as that of a "cleaner" - one who covers up assassinations, accidents, and other messy situations.

> The film is a direct continuation of the first ALIEN VS PREDATOR film. Both films take place in 2004.

> The USELESS KNOWLEDGE portion of this review was provided by IMDB.
