Adamantium Bullet

J Bryant and AngieBee discuss HUNTER KILLER starring Gerard Butler, Common, Toby Stephens, Linda Cardellini, and Gary Oldman; and LONDON FIELDS starring Amber Heard, Billy Bob Thornton, Theo James, Johnny Depp, Jim Sturgess, and Gemma Chan.

Deep under the Arctic Ocean, American submarine Captain Joe Glass (Gerard Butler) is on the hunt for a U.S. sub in distress when he discovers a secret Russian coup is in the offing, threatening to dismantle the world order. With crew and country on the line, Captain Glass must now assemble an elite group of Navy SEALs to rescue the kidnapped Russian president and sneak through enemy waters to stop World War III.

Gerard Butler, sailed aboard the USS Houston (SSN 713) from May 6th to May 9th with director Donovan Marsh for research purposes. They discovered some nuances of a real operating submarine and submarine crew in an attempt to make the movie/script more realistic. While aboard the Houston, Butler slept in the XO's quarters and Marsh slept in the enlisted crew's quarters. The Houston was for a period under the command of George Wallace, Cdr. USN Ret., co-author of the novel "Firing Point" with Don Keith, the book which this film is based on. (IMDB)

LONDON FIELDS invites the audience to play the voyeur, to be a fly on the wall in the life of Nicola Six (Amber Heard), a world-weary clairvoyant femme fatale who is waiting to be murdered. Nicola knows death will come for her on her birthday, and she knows it will be at the hands of one of her lovers… but which one?

The 2015 British Darts Organization World champion, Scott "Scotty Dog" Mitchell, acted as a ‘Darts Consultant’ during the making of LONDON FIELDS. (IMDB)
