WHAT IS HAPPENING WITH HALLOWEEN 3D?

According to Bloody Disgusting, the proposed HALLOWEEN 3D with director Patrick Lussier and writer Todd Farmer at the helm might be changing gears. Reports are saying that the Weinstein Company is seeking a new angle for the franchise and are taking pitches from other directors and writers. While the exit of Lussier and Farmer (who had previous success in the 3D horror genre with MY BLOODY VALENTINE) hasn’t been confirmed yet, the word that the Weinsteins are talking to other filmmakers seems to confirm that they are no longer involved with the project.

It’s really too bad if Lussier and Farmer are no longer attached. I would’ve liked to have seen what they would’ve done with the franchise. Personally, I’m really interested to see if the Weinsteins are going to make this a direct sequel to H2 (which, SPOILER ALERT, ended with Michael dead and Laurie taking his place) or if they are going reboot the series again.

By the way, here’s the alternate ending for H2 for those interested. Very DEVILS REJECTS-esque, though I’m not totally sure what Zombie is implying with the last shot. Is Laurie is some demented version of Heaven or did she survive?
