It’s Wednesday, hump day. The week is half over, and the weekend is just around the corner, so what is a dedicated movie watcher to do? In this weekly column, AngieBee makes her suggestions on what movies you should check out to get you through the rest of the week.

I just can’t believe how fast time goes by. Here we are again on the cusp of another week half over and it’s time to deliver another Hump Day movie. This week’s choice is THE WEDDING PLANNER it’s a wonderful love story, at least for the couple that gets together in the end. Not so great for the fiancée, I guess one could say this movie is every bride’s nightmare until the “I do’s” are done. I love the idea of love at first sight, I do believe “love at first sight” and “soul mates” are possible, only very seldom. The problem is what if your “soul mate” is at McDonalds and you aren’t there to meet them because you decided to skip lunch. I guess I am also not quite as big of a fan of the idea because what if we wait our whole life for that perfect mate when there are a lot of acceptable and wonderful mates that we can love right now?

Now, I am not a big fan of Jennifer Lopez or JLo or what ever she calls herself these days. However, she is completely adorable as Mary Fiore. Matthew McConaughey as Steve Edison is his normal amazing self who once again manages to get his shirt off. Mary’s life or shoe (you’ll see) actually is saved in a chance meeting when Steve “The Doctor” comes to her rescue. They immediately hit it off and have a magical night at an awesome movie in the park, which I would love to attend. Mary is smitten only to find out later in the week that she has been hired to plan Steve’s wedding. Mary is now friends with the bride and is constantly being thrown together with Steve while the bride is MIA.

One of the funny and interesting things about this rom-com is that it includes a great deal of back story. The supporting cast is amazing, Mary’s dad Salvatore played by Alex Rocco is perfect, he is the dad that only wants his daughter to be married and happy. Massimo played by Justin Chambers is the comedy relief for the movie, he is in love with Mary even though he barely knows her now. They were childhood friends, now Mary’s dad wants them to marry and figures the love will follow just like he and his wife’s did. Salvador’s marriage was an arranged marriage. Salvador has a wonderful group of friends that are great supporting roles for the movie. I just can’t imagine this being as great as it is if it weren’t for the back stories.

This is a great rom-com, but yes, you know exactly where its going. The feeling of love and destiny are heart felt and I just love this movie, even though I feel bad for the bride-to-be. However, Mary and Steve’s chemistry is so great I watch the movie just waiting to see them get together. Which is wrong, because Steve professed his love to Fran who really shows no bad qualities, I kinda wish that Fran had a flaw so that I could say she deserves to be dumped. But that doesn’t happen and I am actually ok with it. So, if you want a great movie to watch to get over the Hump give THE WEDDING PLANNER a chance.
