IRON MAN 3 Post-Credits Scene Revealed!
Latino Review has revealed what to expect following the credits of IRON MAN 3 and …it’s simultaneously awesome and a little disappointing. You’ll see what I mean in a second. Or not. What follows is pretty spoiler-y, comes with a massive SPOILER ALERT, and will be totally up to you as to whether you want to read it and be spoiled or not.

Even Robert Downey Jr Thought IRON MAN 2 Was Disappointing
Great piece running over at the LA Times website with Robert Downey Jr revisiting and commenting on the most memorable movie roles of his now nearly forty year career (dude’s first appearance was in POUND way back in 1970). Fun stuff and highly suggest you click HERE to check out the entire article.
Bit that interested me the most, however, was RDJ admitting that IRON MAN 2 was a disappointment. Cribbed the quote for your reading pleasure. Here goes:
“The first one changed everything for me and with the second ‘Iron Man’ there were certain aspects that were dissatisfying and disappointing to me but at least they lit me right…. [The first one] was a meditation on responsibility and an exploration of how a small group of people can take a two-dimensional idea and, if the winds are right, create something that makes people say, ‘That was my favorite movie of the year.’ To me, Tony Stark’s story is a karma story and a technology story. I love a good action movie – a Steve McQueen or Tom Cruise or Clint Eastwood, Bruce Willis or Mel Gibson in the right spot, and you smile and say, ‘That’s what this kind of movie is all about.’ There were two times in my life I prepared for something manically, it was this and ‘Chaplin.’ I became the expert on this guy.”
Yee-ouch. “Dissatisfying and disappointing“? “Least they lit me right”? That’s hard, but the man is entitled to his opinion.

Olivia Munn Poses For Maxim To Promote Her Mediocre Sitcom Debut
Hey look, it’s Olivia Munn, in MAXIM, half naked. What a shock.
Don’t get me wrong, Munn is hot. Scorchingly so and if she decides to go full nude sometime in the next year it will be a glorious day for fanboys across the world. Think the universal celebration at the end of RETURN OF THE JEDI only with less Ewoks and more Kleenex.
Thing is, Munn’s clock is ticking and I’m not talking about her maternal one. I’m talking about her pop culture clock. I’m not sure if you know this or not, but Munn recently left her main gig over at ATTACK OF THE SHOW. That was a daily gig that basically kept her front of the fanboys every single day for the last few years and it worked. Made her semi-famous and made her uber-popular.
I say “semi-famous” because Munn really isn’t known to folk outside of the geek/nerd community. Her few acting gigs since popping up on SHOW have been so-so (one scene cameos in IRON MAN 2, DATE NIGHT and THE SLAMMIN’ SALMON do not a film career make) and her side gig over at THE DAILY SHOW WITH JON STEWART hasn’t been very well received. In other words, with SHOW out of the picture, the pop culture clock (AKA “Your fifteen minutes of fame”) has kicked in. HARD.

Massive CAPTAIN AMERICA – THE FIRST AVENGER News: The Cosmic Cube! Red Skull Concept Art! Teaser Trailer Delayed?
Tons of CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER news hitting this week. I’m guessing this is mostly due to the fact that the first trailer is set to hit any day now, but more on that in a bit. The first bit of news I’d like to discuss involves the Ark Of The Cove…er, I mean, the Cosmic Cube.
That’s right, people. The above pic is Hugo Weaving as The Red Skull holding the almighty Cosmic Cube. Found the pic over at CHUD who found it in this month’s issue of SFX and what else is there to say? It’s a pretty cool pic of a pic and it’s a cube. Yay.
I’m guessing that the CG guys are gonna rub a little funk on this before the actual movie comes out. I mean, seriously, it’s just a white cube. Cap fans will know what it is (as will most true blue Marvel aficionados), but I’m not sure that the average moviegoer has any idea what they are looking at. To the uninitiated, this is simply a pic of Agent Smith (or Elrond, depending on your genre tastes) fixing to whip together some stew for his Nazi stormtroopers using a big-ass bouillon cube. I can almost hear him saying, “And I shall create the most powerful stew the world has ever seen!”.

Adamantium Bullet’s 20 Favorite Movies Of 2010
I’m not a fan of writing lists. I love reading lists, stuff like THE BEST MOVIES OF 2010 and the TOP TEN FILMS TO LOOK FORWARD TO IN 2011. But when it comes to writing them, I end up getting a headache.
The main problem I have is that I’ve not seen all the movies that came out this year, so writing a BEST MOVIES OF 2010 list would be incomplete if I wrote it because I haven’t seen all the movies that came out in 2010. I didn’t see THE TOWN, haven’t had a chance to see TRUE GRIT or BEST WORST MOVIE, never bothered checking out SHUTTER ISLAND, BLACK SWAN or NEVER LET ME GO and I basically avoided TOY STORY 3 and HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON. And that’s just the big films that I missed. There’s dozens of smaller ones that I’ve been meaning to watch but just haven’t gotten around to.
Thing is, this is the end of the year and this is also the slowest news week of the year. That means that a list (two of them to be exact, one for the good and one for the bad) must be written and it must be written by me…because I’m the law around these parts. So, instead of doing some half-assed BEST OF list, I’m going to do list of my favorite movies of 2010. A list that represents the best of what I got around to seeing and what I really enjoyed this year. And after this list, I’ll post one that represents the absolute shit that I’ve seen this year, but more on that in a bit.

Director Jon Favreau WON’T Return To Helm IRON MAN 3
Briefly: Director Jon Favreau will not be returning to helm IRON MAN 3.
This announcement (first reported over at Vulture and later confirmed by Favreau himself) comes after months of rumors that Favreau was not pleased with Marvel Studios forcing him to shoehorn in AVENGERS material into IRON MAN 2 at the last minute. If one is to believe the rumor mill, both Favreau and star Robert Downey Jr were displeased with the studio interference during the filming of IM2 and that this interference actually caused a rift between the two. A rift that reportedly caused RDJ to drop out of Favreau’s next pic, COWBOYS AND ALIENS.
And apparently, IRON MAN 3 would’ve been the same situation. Favreau was wanting to make a more self-contained universe for the character, while Marvel felt that IRON MAN 3 needed to be a pseudo-sequel to THE AVENGERS, THOR, CAPTAIN AMERICA and IRON MAN 2. Granted, all of this is rumor at the moment, but Favreau’s departure seems to confirm that are problems between director and studio.

BLACK WIDOW MIGHT SPIN-OFF FROM THE AVENGERS
While promoting the upcoming IRON MAN 2 Blu-Ray over at Superhero Hype, Marvel pres Kevin Feige dropped a very interesting little tidbit about everyone’s favorite Russian latex-clad double agent, Black Widow. It turns out that the character has proven so popular that discussions have already started with actress Scarlett Johansson to reprise the role in a potential spin-off.

BEHOLD THE MIGHTY HAMMER OF THOR!!!
Is safe to finally talk openly about the after the credits scene from IRON MAN 2? You know, the one with Mjolnir (aka Thor’s Hammer) making an appearance? Well, if you haven’t seen IRON MAN 2, now you know to stick around after the credits. You’re welcome.
Oh, and speaking of Mjolnir, here’s a pic from THOR featuring the insanely buff Chris Hemsworth attempting to pull said hammer from a pillar of stone. Very cool shot, much cooler than the insane FLASH GORDON-esque pics that have been leaking out the last few weeks. Hopefully, this shot is more representative of the quality of the film than those candy-colored bits of insanity were.
