RENNER DOES THE IMPOSSIBLE AND THE NEW MISSION MIGHT GET A NAME CHANGE?

Sorry for the delay, but I’m at the start of some vacation time at the moment and my output has been sporadic at best. I’ll try to keep things on a more even keel next week. As for now, it’s time to do some blogging about the week’s entertainment events.

Good bit of MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE news today, the first being that HURT LOCKER star Jeremy Renner has been tapped to star alongside Tom Cruise. This announcement (first reported over at Deadline) comes after a week-long search for a co-star headed by Paramount. Amongst the names mentioned (and apparently screen tested) were Renner’s LOCKER co-star Anthony Mackie, Kevin Zegers and Christopher Egan. I think it’s safe to say that Paramount went with the right choice and I also think it’s safe to say that between this, Ben Affleck’s THE TOWN and his upcoming role in THE AVENGERS, Renner is officially the “next big thing”.
