The teaser trailer for THE AVENGERS is just that…a tease. Consisting of nothing more than a logo and a little bit of narration courtesy of Samuel L Jackson, this teaser will get you maybe a little tiny bit psyched. But seriously, don’t expect much as this is really more of an announcement trailer than anything else.

Held off on reporting this next bit because, well, I knew it wasn’t quite over. You see, two days back, Deadline reported that Joss Whedon (of BUFFY, FIREFLY, ANGEL, DOLLHOUSE fame) had been hired to helm Marvel’s upcoming big-screen version of THE AVENGERS. Now, if you want to get technical, this was really old news, because IESB reported back on April 1st that Joss was helming AVENGERS. Unfortunately, the timing was bad on that piece and it was largely considered to be a April Fools Day prank. It wasn’t, and Joss has been hired.
